A Meeting of Aberhafesp Community Council was held on Wednesday
26th April 2017 at the Community Centre.
Present - Councillor Alun Pryce (Chairman), Councillor Nigel Hamer (Vice Chairman), Councillors John Nutting, Glyn Jones, Jeffrey Hopkins and Mr.Amy.

1. A welcome was extended to all present by the Chairman.
2. Apologies - There were no apologies.
3. Minutes of previous meeting - all Councillors had received a copy of the minutes prior to the meeting. Proposed by Councillor Nigel Hamer and seconded by Councillor John Nutting minutes be adopted - all in agreement - Chairman signed accordingly.
4. Matters arising - Highways - speed limit sign damaged in an accident is now back in place. Village green - due to the fact that there is a difference of opinion of this item - decision will have to be made at a 'Hearing' - no details yet of date etc. Planning - outline planning for dwellings near to Church - refused. A cheque for £600 has been presented to the Aberhafesp association towards funding for another defibrillator to be placed at the Centre. The wall at the Old Rectory has been repaired. Telephone box at Blackwell - clerk had been in contact with Powys County Council who are dealing with this issue but no progress to date.
5. Audit - the Clerk has prepared accounts for the internal audit by Mr.Wyn Parry -meeting agreed that any further information required by the external auditors as last year should be provided.
6. Insurance - there is a slight increase in the price for insurance for the forth coming year - proposed by Councillor John Nutting and seconded by Councillor Jeffrey Hopkins quote to be accepted - all agreed.
7. Details of proposed Boundary changes will not apply for now (maybe at a later date ) due to General election in June.
The final item of the evening was the resignation of two very faithful Councillors - County Councillor Mrs Joy Shearer and Community Councillor Mr.John Nutting. Both had been appointed to this Council on 28th June 1999. Joy due to boundary changes and John elected by the residents of the Parish at his first attempt even topping the poll. Chairman Councillor Alun Pryce expressed thanks for all they had contributed to this Council over the years and stated how they will both be greatly missed.
