A Meeting of Aberhafesp Community Council was held on Wednesday
24th August 2016 at the Community Centre.
Present - Councillor Alun Pryce (Chairman), Councillor Nigel Hamer (Vice Chairman), Councillors Glyn Jones, Brian Davies, John Nutting, Jeffrey Hopkins and Richard Jones. County Councillor Mrs Joy Shearer unable to attend due to ill health.

1. A welcome was extended to all present by the Chairman - Councillor Alun Pryce.
2. Apologies - County Councillor Mrs Joy Shearer.
3. Minutes - each Councillor had received a copy of the minutes prior to the meeting. Proposed by Councillor Jeffrey Hopkins and seconded by Councillor Brian Davies minutes to be adopted -all agreed Chairman signed accordingly.
4. Matters arising -Highways - manhole covers above Woodlands still no action.
Still no reply over the request for a further inspection to be made on the B4568 where a fatality occurred and another recent accident.
No replacement of directional sign at Cross Roads. Clerk will pursue these issues.
Planning results - outline planning at Hillcrest - conditional consent. Clerk read letter from residents of the Parish concerning procedures on planning applications taken by this Community Council - Clerk had replied to the correspondence hopefully clarifying the actions taken by the Councillors.
5. Planning -Conversion of outbuilding for additional residential space, installation of treatment plant and associated works at Tyn-y-Cwm, Bwlchyffridd -meeting discussed this application at some length and could see no objection.
6. Correspondence received from The Bwlchyffridd Community Charity Trust (a trust set up to hopefully allow the remaining monies from the sale of Bwlchyffridd Chapel to be utilised locally). Councillors. Brian Davies, John Nutting and Richard Jones declared an interest in this item (Trustees). The other Councillors considered the issues identified in the correspondence and agreed unanimously to support the Trust. The meeting requested for the Clerk to confirm the support in the form of a letter - to whom it may concern.
7. Other items - a BT box has been placed on the land opposite the old Chapel in Bwlchyffridd - clerk to make enquiries i.e permission etc.
Jean thanked all the Councillors and residents of the Parish for their kindness - offers of transport, phone calls, cards etc. received during Mikes illness.
There being no further business Chairman closed the meeting at 8.15.
