A  Meeting  of Aberhafesp Community Council was held on Wednesday

22nd June 2016 at the Community Centre.

Present - Councillor Alun Pryce (Chairman), Councillor Nigel Hamer (vice chairman), Councillors Brian Davies, Glyn Jones and County Councillor Mrs.Joy Shearer.

 

1 .A welcome was extended to all present by the Chairman.

 

2. Apologies - Councillor Jeffrey Hopkins, Richard Jones.

 

3. Minutes of previous meeting were sent to each Councillor prior to the meeting. Minutes were adopted and signed as correct by the Chairman

 

4. Matters arising - the following planning applications have received consent by Powys County Council - School, 2, Minhafren,

solar panels at the Cwm, outline planning at Hillcrest.

Highways - the following areas have had some of the potholes etc reported rectified - Bethel, Lletty and the crossroads above Caersws.

 

5. Planning - outline application for 10 dwellings behind Beechcroft -meeting discussed this application at some length -no objection - proposed by Councillor Nigel Hamer, seconded b Councillor Brian Davies - all agreed,

but the following issues to be brought to the attention of the planners -

Check that all public footpaths are identified prior to any full planning being considered.

New properties must be connected to the new sewerage scheme.

Suggestion that developer provide a traffic calming system (e.g. flashing speed restriction) as concern has been expressed by a resident of the village that due to the alteration to the road traffic will progress at an even faster speed than at present

 

6. Other items - the paperbank sited at the Centre entrance will be removed by Powys C.C. not needed due to re-cycling policy.

A problem has arisen with some households finding that their "red box"not being emptied - this is due to the fact some item enclosed was incorrect or not clean enough -please check with P.C.C if you have a problem.

 

There being no other business chairman closed the meeting at 8.05
