A  Meeting  of Aberhafesp Community Council was held on Wednesday

13th December 2017 at the Community Centre.

 

 

Present — Councillor Nigel Hamer (Chairman),  Councillor Richard Jones (Vice-Chairman) Councillors - Jeffrey Hopkins, Glyn Jones, Graham Green, Alun Pryce ,  Also present: - Mr. Richard Amy and Mr. Michael Morgan

1]  A welcome was extended to all present by the Chairman.

 

2]  Apologies - County Councillor Mrs H.Hulme

 

3] Minutes of previous meeting - each Councillor had received a copy of the minutes prior to the meeting. Proposed by Councillor Richard Jones and seconded by Councillor Glyn Jones minutes to be accepted- all agreed. Chairman signed accordingly

 

4]  Matters arising - no further information on out standing planning applications. Chairman and Vice gave a report on the meeting they had attended regarding Planning - both Councillors felt it was more a "paper exercise' and not very well organised. it was noted that for 10 houses or more contact should be made with the Community Council involved prior to any official application to planners. Land in Bwlch-y-ffridd - various items concerning the land were discussed and proposed by Councillor Alun Pryce and seconded by Councillor Graham Green that clerk should make inquiries on certain items All agreed

 

5] Planning - land behind Beechcroft - application for reduction in visibility to northbound direction from 90m as stated in planning approval to 70m This item was discussed at some length with the letters received from local residents being considered -Proposed by Councillor Jeffrey Hopkins and Seconded by Councillor Alun Pryce - application be refused -all agreed

 

6 ]  Precept - the Clerk had produced a likely expenditure for the year 2018/19 a copy of which was issued to those present. The meeting discussed this issue taking into account that there was going to be added expenditure in the forth coming year -proposed by Councillor Richard Jones and seconded by Councillor Glyn Jones precept be increased by £1,500.00 to £5,350.00. All agreed. Appeal-Red Cross - no action.

 

7]  Appeal - Red Cross - no action.

 

8 ] The Clerk had tendered her resignation (due to health issues) which was accepted in the circumstances by the Community Council. Chairman and members thanked the clerk for her work over many years. Clerk agreed to continue until such time that a new clerk was appointed. The Councillors then proceeded to discuss issues regarding the advertising etc of the position - the clerk left the meeting at this point.
